We love to talk about alignment in chiropractic, but are we aligned with what our patients actually need? A 2024 systematic review revealed patients don’t just want great adjustments, they want care that respects their whole story. From clear communication and cultural humility to seeing providers who look like them, the research highlights what truly builds trust. For chiropractors, this isn’t just about better bedside manner, it’s about the future of our profession.

The path to transforming Black health through chiropractic care requires a collective and sustained effort. It is not enough to acknowledge disparities without actively working to close the gaps. This means increasing the visibility of Black chiropractors, ensuring that communities have access to culturally competent care, and reshaping the conversation around holistic wellness.

As chiropractors, and particularly as Black chiropractors, this is a moment to reaffirm our value in shaping the future of healthcare. We matter in chiropractic. Our presence and leadership are essential in ensuring the profession reflects the needs and realities of diverse communities.
