Your Muscle Tension Deserves Attention.
Cupping & Soft Tissue Care in Atlanta
When muscle tenderness or tension is part of what you’re feeling, joint care may be only one part of the conversation. Soft tissue techniques offer another way to address the area.
What Is Soft Tissue Care?
Soft tissue care uses hands-on pressure, movement, or specialized instruments to work with muscles and surrounding connective tissues. The technique, pressure, and treatment area depend on your examination and tolerance.
What Is Cupping?
Cupping uses cups to create suction at the skin’s surface. While massage generally applies pressure into the tissues, cupping creates a lifting sensation. Depending on the technique, cups may remain in place or move across the skin.
Why Might These Techniques Be Recommended?
If muscle tenderness or tension accompanies your movement concerns, soft tissue care may be considered to help manage discomfort and make movement more comfortable. It may be combined with exercise or chiropractic adjustments when each addresses a different part of the examination findings. Evidence for cupping’s pain benefits remains limited, so your response matters when deciding whether to continue.
What Will I Feel?
You may feel pressure, pulling, or tenderness. Treatment does not need to be intensely painful to be worthwhile. We adjust the approach with your feedback.
What About Cupping Marks?
Cupping can cause temporary circular discoloration, soreness, or skin irritation. The marks do not measure treatment success or show that toxins have been removed. Tell us about skin conditions, blood-thinning medications, or easy bruising before treatment.
